System overview

The wireless system complies with IEEE802.15.4 opearting at 2.4 GHz which is license free worldwide. At predetermined time intervals radio modules perform measurements and send data to Base Station. In between measurements, modules go to sleep mode savings batteries. This extends battery lifetime even to a few years (depends on measurement frequency). When module is active, PC connected to Base Station (network coordinator) can read measurement data and also can change configuration of the system ( measurement intervals, measurement function or range, ... ) . Data from all sensors are transmitted from Base Station to PC via USB interface in real time. With the KESTbee Windows software we can program system parameters, record data to disk, view actual or historic data in numerical and time-base chart format .
